Brisbane Airport Future Airlines

Here is a list of airlines that have announced flights to Brisbane, as well as airlines that have shown interest in flying to Brisbane.
 
Possibilities

Air Canada

Air Canada have announced their intentions to commence flights to a second Australian port. The initial announcement said that Melbourne was the favourite, however a second announcement was made, saying that Brisbane was possibly a better option for the airline. Flights would probably be from Vancouver and would commence once the airline receives Boeing 787s, giving an approximate start up of somewhere between 2014 and 2015. More announcements have recently been made by Air Canada saying that they are looking at starting flights to Brisbane. They even created a route map of destinations that the Boeing 787 would allow them to serve, Brisbane was included in the map.

Air China

Air China currently fly to Sydney and Melbourne, they have been rumoured to have considered flying to Brisbane in the past. Flights would most likely be from Shanghai or Beijing using Airbus A330s.

China Eastern

China Eastern have announced their intentions to increase services to Australia. They have flights to Sydney, Melbourne and now Cairns. They have also added extra flights to Sydney from a new destination. They are rumoured to be looking at flying to Brisbane next. Flights would probably be from Shanghai with Airbus A330s.


Airbus A330-300

JAL

JAL dropped flights to Brisbane in September 2010 due to financial problems. The airline said that once they returned to profitability and had received enough Boeing 787s they would resume flights to Brisbane, both of which have happened, so it is only a matter of time. Flights would most likely be from Tokyo with Boeing 787s. Flights were expected to be resumed later this year, however it is now looking more like a 2014 start up.

Vietnam Airlines

Vietnam Airlines had announced there intentions to add more destinations in Australia to there network in the past, the possibilities being Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. Flights would most likely be from Ho Chi Minh City with Airbus A330s.
